Who needs to be “aware” of the issue of human trafficking? What do they do with that awareness? Human trafficking involves a complex and entangled set of issues, so the Maryland Coalition has created the following model to provide a framework for our activities.
The Maryland Coalition has asserted priority to reaching the following audience segments:
- Vulnerable Populations, specifically youth, foster care, and collegiate, with awareness and prevention messaging
- Observers, specifically the Church and other nonprofit agencies, with a call to directly engage
- Referrers, specifically youth workers, teachers, and other providers with training on how to identify and report
- Influencers, with messaging on how law and systems need to change to prevent and protect
We achieve our AWARENESS objectives through a variety of means. Here is where we engage the creativity of Coalition members to develop campaigns and be the on-the-ground forces to bring awareness into communities. YOU can be a part of this effort. Join us in this important work.
