Awareness

Who needs to be “aware” of the issue of human trafficking? What do they do with that awareness? Human trafficking involves a complex and entangled set of issues, so the Maryland Coalition has created the following model to provide a framework for our activities. The Maryland Coalition has asserted priority to reaching the following audience segments:

  1. Vulnerable Populations, specifically youth, foster care, and collegiate, with awareness and prevention messaging
  2. Observers, specifically the Church and other nonprofit agencies, with a call to directly engage
  3. Referrers, specifically youth workers, teachers, and other providers with training on how to identify and report
  4. Influencers, with messaging on how law and systems need to change to prevent and protect

We achieve our AWARENESS objectives through a variety of means. Here is where we engage the creativity of Coalition members to develop campaigns and be the on-the-ground forces to bring awareness into communities. YOU can be a part of this effort. Join us in this important work.
